1.Manchester United got the best boost
A decisive goal in the last minutes plays a moral role no other goal does. They got a certain drama, they are quite a beauty and unforgettable. This last minute goals specially on important games can change a team mental form, unite the locker, the coach and the fans. Last minute goals show players were giving 100% and that spirit provides many changes.I expect United will be mentality much stronger in the next games and will not give up both defensively and offensively again.
This weekend has shown us United will be alive to fight for that Champions League they want so much.

2. Tottenham is still a very messy land
The old Spurs, going up and down. Under the AVB, one of my personal favourites (I'm a FCPorto die hard fan), i was becoming a Spurs Fan, COYS was becoming a common word for me. Unfortunately as any narrative goes, they fired AVB and i though it was unfair, since i thought Franco Baldini was the one to blaim. That's other talks now.
Tottenham lost against Newcastle 1-2 at White Hart Lane, two goals conceded in almost 10 minutes, a short window for a tought loss. But let's look into the data with more depth.The Spurs won the possession Battle (Peanuts against Newcastle), they had more shots 17 to 8, they had more dribbles, corners, throw ins and they only got less Aerial Duels. Statistically this shows that Tottenham has some game going on, they were indeed far superior in the game, so how did they lost?
Tottenham lost the game at the Half-Time, Newcastle understood how to beat the Spurs defense, Vertonghen is still not the Central Defender Tottenham needs and Eric Dier is not the superstar the first matches shown. Alan Pardew understood, as Tottenham was winning 1-0, what was needed to get a "Remontada". He subbed in Ameobi and Cabella, tweaked the 4231 formation quite a bit, got Tottenham's defense by surprise and boom 1-1, the second one came right after. Tottenham was never in the game again and Newcastle was always on top of situations.
This will happen to Tottenham again, the game was lost because one team was better prepared and outsmarted the other. Tottenham is very green at the moment, they need to understand what this squad is capable of and the pressure has to be low. Pochettino is far from the man to blaim in this situation.
Tottenham Hotspurs sits at the 11 place and i think they will do better, but for now, they are where their Football gets them.
3. City is still lacking consistency
Manchester City claimed the top spot of the Premier League last season, but they changed. They seem like a different team and when everybody thought the Premier League title would bring the consistency the team needs to be a threat in the Champions League, they seem like they can fail more.City lost against the Hammers and i feel like some players were the key to the loss:
- Dzeko is not a City Quality Striker 90% of the times
- Hart is the Hart we all know, can be in the best and in the worst
- Fernando cannot fail in the position he plays and he is not the Octopus he was while playing for FCPorto
- Kompany failing every once in a while
- Clichy has shown he is not the guy for the 1st 11
- Jovetic better start to produce much more
- Milner is lost in translation
The truth is this players are the key to the loss, but players are never the real key to a loss, since they are only paid to play. Sports Management of the team should take the blaim and i feel like the lack of consistency of Manchester City will translate in a vital loss of points this Season. Being 6 points away from Chelsea may start hurting too much.
4. Southampton marches in
Every Premier League there is a surprise team, but Southampton is going a bit too far, in a good way. They are showing that last year good performances were not Random, Pochettino fueled or "Star" Players based.
Under Ronald Koeman they are playing in a very solid 4-3-3 system, they are playing a possession football in which they get a lot of chances and shots and the defense is playing their part as well. Last game Alderweireld could have played better but the defense as whole was preety tough.
Southampton has only conceded 3 goals in 7 matches and the fire power of the team is something to be aware of , in 7 matches they scored 18 goals(!). In 7 matches they won 6 and lost 1 against Tottenham in a very tight match.
This Southampton is looking good and the 2nd place suits them, even though we all feel it won't be for long, going to Europe is happening and they will be a hard fight to team when the Champions League Spots are getting tighter.
5. Chelsea is still the strongest side
Another week is gone and Mou's side is still sitting on the Top of the Premier League. They're now 6 points away from the biggest competitor to win the Premier League City and 4 from the 2nd Southampton.
They got a draw against United in Old Trafford, so what? If there was one side that could have won that match, that side was Chelsea. They got the game all under control until the very last minute. Diego Costa is a main piece of this Chelsea and he was missing, still, i felt that Chelsea was the superior team there and Mourinho was happy enough with winning by one that he asked his troops to leave the fire zone. We would not blaim him if the game has ended at 93.
Chelsea is showing that they can manage Premier League with some ease and that's just brutal. Last Season i feel like Chelsea's problem was the small games, they were dropping points in the small games where they shouldn't. This season they got a team which can win the small games and getting Mou's Mastery to win the Big Games.
I would easily go All In for this Chelsea as Premier League 14/15 Winner.
